As the illustrious "cousinbrewski" has so well said, "If you ain't there, you're gonna miss it".
Well, if you weren't at The Starlight on Saturday May 9th, you definitely missed it. I think Shawn Kellerman has been practicing. Seriously, you must see this man live and in person. His CDs, and in particular, the new "Blues Without A Home" are superb recordings, but, to me anyway, are just a reminder of how incredible a musician this guy is, especially on stage.
I could go on and on (and usually do), but when Mr. Kellerman returns from his current tour, find a reason, excuse, whatever to cancel other plans and go to the nearest club. You won't be disappointed.
Here are a few pics of him in action (and a few of the interesting characters that wander in early for the "Global Warming" DJ dance stuff that follows the real music. The fun part is to see these college kids enjoying the blues, often quite unexpectedly.
Hey there Smyles EH !
Good to see here ! Thanks for the review too. Mr. Kellerman I agree is on the leaning edge of the New Blues and so Intense. As you already know and I too have experienced over the years, he is a joy to photograph! Lots of poses and expressions.
BTW, Nice Shots Sir. I see you really like to get into your photo work too ! Well who couold blame you?
See you here or at a Gig soon.
"illustrious" - geez, I'll give you 5 bucks when I see you.
Get Your Gig On,
